How to Join Up:

To compete at any Horse Trials or 3-Day event or clinic sanctioned by the AHTA you need to be a member of the AHTA. If you do not want an annual membership you can purchase a single event Temporary Membership ($25) on site. For competitions you must also be a member of the Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF).

If you plan to compete at or below Training Level in events that are called ‘Primary’ then you do not require any further memberships. However to compete in a ‘National’ level horse trial or event you must in addition to your AHTA and AEF memberships, become a current member of Equine Canada (EC). You will also be required to purchase a horse passport that serves to verify ownership and officially record your horse’s performances.

Consult the Omnibus listings to find out whether the division you want to enter is National or Primary.
